Hydrated Lime is an inorganic compound which is widely utilized in construction, food processing, and waste water treatment industries. It is known to have chemical formula Ca(OH)2 with molar mass of 74.093 g/mol in anhydrous form. This lime appears as white colored powder with water solubility. Also known as calcium hydroxide, it has melting point of 580 degrees Celsius with density of 2.211 g/cm3. Hydrated Lime acts as flocculant in effluent treatment plants for removing solid particles during water treatment. With E number E526, it is used as acidity regulator in numerous food products.
